Tamás Esze Tradition-keeping Creative Camp
In Tarpa from 17 of July till 26 of the same month Tamás Esze Tradition-keeping Creative Camp was held. 36 children and 4 educators got acquainted with folk trades, making of Kuruc foods during ten days in the camp, which was set up with the cooperation of Tarpa Village Commune andMezõvári Commune. Children made different things, presents, useful accessories with the help of their educators. These things were exhibited at the end of Historical Kuruc Days .
László Vajda, a smith and folk trade artist, taught the children how to work with metal, how to forge it, etc. This is a very interesting folk tradition but it is getting very rare day by day. They made little things and ornaments: snail-like figures, small horseshoes, etc.
ErzsébetKormosnéKlencner, a cornhusk-spinner folk trade artist, taught for children: spin of cornhusk, weave of string and card during the creative camp. Children were got acquainted with the preparing of cloth, and then they made little things like bracelet, small angel, flower, star, fir-tree, etc.
Judit Kaszásné Tóth, a felt maker folk trade artist, taught the children the history of felt. They made things from felt: bracelet, fillet, belt, ball, jewel, box, etc.
László Rádi is a wood carver folk trade artist. He spoke about wood carving for the children. First of all they got acquainted with the tools and equipments for woodcarving, secondly they applied them in practice: peeling, drilling, straight and oblique cut, refining. They made different pieces: whistle from elderberry, rocket, ring, letter, pen, etc.
Zoltánné Szászi, a fancy worker folk trade artist, taught the children for wrapper, embroidery, etc. They learned how to make a straight line; they made bookmarks, pincushions, etc.
László Alexa is a wood carver folk trade artist. He spoke about the Romanian flat woodcarving. He taught about the usage of sign-system of headstones. They made knives for children, flower holders, pens, crosses, trays, smaller things, etc. They got acquainted with deepen carving and technology of carves.
Mihály Fehér, a basket-spinner folk trade artist, told stories about stick and basket spinning. He showed different sort of sticks: cooked American sallow, cooked shaved and unshaved sallow. They learned all about theoretical and practical basket spinning. The smart hands made baskets. Things were made like: bracelet, coasters, etc.
Elvira Szolanics, a potter and ceramics, taught them about clay. (What is clay?) They kneaded clay, got acquainted with the potter-disc. On the disk they made hand-pots, and they decorated them.
Participants of the camp were taught by Ferenc Bánó how to make village meals, etc. After a short historical review they made raised batter and products, which are made from it: home-bread, scone, pie, figures. At the start and at the finish of the camp children could taste other meals from meat, which were baked in furnaces (roasted bacon, roast joint from pork, etc.).
On the 24of July 3 members from the team of Tarpa and Mezõvári took part on a historical quiz and professional conference duringthe Historical Kuruc Days . On the 25 of July on the so-called public-day the work of children were exhibited in a demonstration-tent.
Occasions were held in the park of Culture-house, on the yard of Monument-house and in Land-house. Children could spend their free-time with reading, using the Internet, table-football, music, watching documentary films ( Tarpa and its area from the TV programme Fõtér (Main-square), Blossom of the Tisza , The history of plum-brandy , Flag-unfolding Tarpa, The lieutenant of Rákóczi, Captain of the Tenkes), football on a small ground, basketball, badminton, volleyball, driving through the desert, travelling by carts (locations: Mountain, a short passage of a path), riding a tour-bike on fields (dike, the 2001 place of dike-break, Tivadar bank of the Tisza, Petõfi-tree, Szatmárcseke Memorial-house, boat-headed graveyard), musical evening, karaoke party, plant-visiting (Tarpa Manufacture Ltd., Huszti Bio-Farm).
The project Development of Stretch-over-Borders Cooperation in the Hungarian-Ukrainian Border-area came in for support, which is partly financed by the EGT and the Norwegian Financing Mechanism, and the Republic of Hungary.
